Tasmin Stephens has always dreamt of creating something untouchable. Even before reaching her teens, she’d begun to fall hard for the mythical icons of generations past; people who transcended the reality she saw around her, growing up in hometown Wigan, a suburb of Manchester. Rather than boybands or modern pop idols, Stephens became bewitched by Blondie and Lou Reed, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. By the time she started writing songs and making her first sketchy attempts at recording them, aged 14, she already knew there was nothing else that she was going to do.

As TTSSFU, Tasmin isn’t content to simply exist in a vague pool of dream-pop inspired newcomers, nor happy to operate quietly in the shadows. Tasmin demands attention, and will be quick to receive it. Equal parts a typical artist’s artist, to a bewildering and abrasive one-off. Her aesthetic, hyper-specific and often unsettling, is imbued with an innate love of analogue horror and the intoxicating glitch and noise of early internet yore. A whirlpool of chaotic energy..
